£8.00 adv : £9.00 door
Dan Snaith aka Caribou (previously known as Manitoba) has come up with a unique statement in electronic music, fusing hopscotch melodies and filtered electronic sunshine with influences as diverse as the spiritual free jazz of the early 70s, North American indie music of the 90s and a miasma of psychedelic rock.

The Necks
Tuesday 13 May : 8pm (seated) £12.00 : £10.00 concessions
One of the great cult bands of Australia, with next to no publicity, their thirteen albums have sold in their thousands. Together Chris Abrahams (piano), Tony Buck (drums), and Lloyd Swanton (bass) conjure a chemistry that defies description in orthodox terms and a music which throws forth new charms on each hearing. Not entirely avant-garde, nor minimalist, nor ambient, nor jazz, the music of The Necks is possibly unique in the world today. Lloyd Swanton (bass) makes his return to Norwich, after 20 years, having performed Beethoven's 9th with the Wren Orchestra of London, in 1985. |
