Tristan Burfield - Stereoscopy Series - 2Tristan Burfield

Saturday 5 January 08 - Tuesday 28 January 08 : 10am-7pm
Free

Tristan Burfield’s practice incorporates sound, performance, photography and film. The unifying premise is that all aspects explore the potential and limitations of the lo-fi technology used.

The exhibition includes the ‘Stereoscopy Series’, a series of images which explore the external depth of the photographic canvas and challenge the defacto aesthetic of the flat print. All images were devised on a 35mm stereo camera and are viewed through paper anaglyph glasses, available from the front desk.

Recently his projects have been enhanced by the encorporation of visual elements, his music has been used as an accompliament to a silent surrealist film [Blood of a poet], combined with small format film [Shimmies in Super-8] and has been juxtaposed against found manipulated material [Shadow Pictures]. The visual strand of his work has been strengthened via a series of photographic exhibitions shown in galleries throughout the UK. He releases limited edition handmade tapes and CDR's through his own label.
