(feat. Wolfgang Flür - ex Kraftwerk)

+ Vista + Rice ‘n’ Beans + Howlback Hum

Friday 13 June : 8pm (late bar)
£15.00 adv : £16.00 door

One of Germany’s busiest independent bands in the international arena, Dyko’s music has inspired Wolfgang Flür (ex-Kraftwerk) to play e-drums live for the first time since Kraftwerk. Snapped-up by the wombatwombat/Muzica! team after a sensational electronica/pop-punk/new wave sound and vision extravaganza at EXIT 2007, Dyko, featuring Wolfgang Flür, play their debut UK show at NAC: unmissable.

Dyko

It’s just five weeks until Dyko, featuring Wolfgang Flür (ex-Kraftwerk), play their UK debut gig, which is also a one-off show, making it a really hot ticket.

Roll on Friday, 13 June: it’s going to be a very lucky day for anybody at the unmissable wombatwombat/Muzica-hosted occasion at Norwich Arts Centre where gig-goers will be indulged in Dyko’s sensational electronica/pop-punk/new wave sound and vision extravaganza that continually wows crowds all around the world.

Modelled on the Bauhaus concept of the "artist as a technician", Dyko musically and visually reflect their fascination with Teutonic everyday life and culture, including artistic processing of German language videos from the 1970s.

John Barrie Dyke and Christofer Jost, aka Dyko – an Australian/German duo of synthi-pop devotees  are profoundly inspired by bands/artists such as Kraftwerk, The Human League, David Bowie, Depeche Mode and Iggy Pop.

Equally inspirational, Dyko’s music has provided enough motivation for Wolfgang Flür to pick up his sticks and play live e-drums for the first time since 1987 when he left what is widely regarded as the classic incarnation of Kraftwerk. Apart from collaborating at gigs – which have recently included a version of the Kraftwerk masterpiece Autobahn – Dyko and Wolfgang are working on a joint studio project.

Support in the auditorium comes from two Norwich-based acts: the electro-pop singer/songwriter duo Vista – which takes its cue from Saint Etienne, Pet Shop Boys, Massive Attack and New Order – and the electro/down-tempo/nu-jazz/soul sounds of Rice ‘n’ Beans, a new project from production maestro Paul Cullen of Taxi.

Vista

Vista is a two-piece electro-dance singer/songwriter outfit hailing from Norwich. With influences ranging from Saint Etienne and Pet Shop Boys to Massive Attack and Faithless to New Order they fuse this inspiration with original and sturdy songwriting.

Vista play hypnotically sweet dance-pop melodies with blissed-out charm, hooky tunes and electronic swirls, creating an evocative and entrancing sound complemented by delicate and seductive vocals.

The duo's music would be perfect on the dancefloor but equally lends itself to anyone in a more chilled-out mood. Pulsing rhythms, dynamic electro twists and turns and sophisticated vocals make Vista tuned to FM perfection.

Regularly working on new material, handling all the songwriting and production, Vista play live locally and further afield. They’ve also enjoyed radio play and topped an internet song poll for bands in the area. So, if you're a fan of electronic music with strong vocal melodies, look no further...
