(feat. Wolfgang Flür - ex Kraftwerk)

+ Vista + Howlback Hum

Friday 13 June : 8pm (late bar)
£15.00 adv : £16.00 door

One of Germany’s busiest independent bands in the international arena, Dyko’s music has inspired Wolfgang Flür (ex-Kraftwerk) to play e-drums live for the first time since Kraftwerk. Snapped-up by the wombatwombat/Muzica! team after a sensational electronica/pop-punk/new wave sound and vision extravaganza at EXIT 2007, Dyko, featuring Wolfgang Flür, play their debut UK show at NAC: unmissable.

Dyko

Dyko is one of the busiest independent German bands in the international arena, having played over 40 concerts in 15 countries worldwide within the last year. Dyko’s song Elektro Leiber will be released worldwide in April 2008 on the Bar Berlin compilation on London-based Nascente label. Dyko has also done a remix for the Pinker Tones song Pink Freud for their album More Colours.

Dyko is John Barrie Dyke from Melbourne, Australia and Christofer Jost from Frankfurt, Germany. The duo is modelled on the Bauhaus concept of the "artist as a technician". Musically and visually they reflect their fascination with German everyday life culture and have also artistically processed German language videos from the 1970s. They are devoted to synthi-pop and new wave and are profoundly and lastingly inspired by bands/artists such as Kraftwerk, The Human League, David Bowie, Depeche Mode and Iggy Pop.

The music of Dyko has inspired Wolfgang Flür (ex-Kraftwerk) to pick up his sticks and play e-drums live for the first time since Kraftwerk. Apart from live collaborations, Dyko and Wolfgang are currently working on a joint studio production.

Dyko see themselves as German electronic cultural ambassadors. A mini world tour took place from June to November 2007, which included a four-week Australian concert/cultural discussion and workshops tour for the Goethe Institut. In October 2007 Dyko performed four shows in China at the Nanjing Pop Festival where top German bands Juli, Mia, Tele +2raumwohnung appeared. North American, Belarus, Turkish and European tours for the Goethe Institut are currently in planning for autumn 2008.

Vista

Vista is a two-piece electro-dance singer/songwriter outfit hailing from Norwich. With influences ranging from Saint Etienne and Pet Shop Boys to Massive Attack and Faithless to New Order they fuse this inspiration with original and sturdy songwriting.

Vista play hypnotically sweet dance-pop melodies with blissed-out charm, hooky tunes and electronic swirls, creating an evocative and entrancing sound complemented by delicate and seductive vocals.

The duo's music would be perfect on the dancefloor but equally lends itself to anyone in a more chilled-out mood. Pulsing rhythms, dynamic electro twists and turns and sophisticated vocals make Vista tuned to FM perfection.

Regularly working on new material, handling all the songwriting and production, Vista play live locally and further afield. They’ve also enjoyed radio play and topped an internet song poll for bands in the area. So, if you're a fan of electronic music with strong vocal melodies, look no further...
